RCASF Helps Grant a Wish...

Thanks to the RCASF 32nd Annual Fishing Tournament (June 2011), a boy named Matthew will have his wish granted through Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida. Here is his story (as written and published by Make-A-Wish Foundation):

Matthew is a 15-year-old boy from Coral Springs who is battling brain cancer. He has a tremendously positive spirit and says that fishing helps him cope with the grueling treatments he faces week in and week out. Every chance he gets, Matthew and his father head out fishing. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida asked what his greatest wish would be, Matthew asked for a pontoon boat so that he can fish whenever he wants! In the coming months, the Foundation will grant Matthew's very special wish.

As with every Summer, we look forward to our Annual Fishing Tournament. Great people, good food and enough fishing and R&R to call it a vacation - So what could be better???

Each year, the RCASF chooses a charity with which we can partner and distribute a portion of proceeds. This year, Make-A-Wish Foundation, South Florida benefited from this worthwhile event, and we want to thank everyone, from Sponsors to participants, for their support!

Charity Project

Throughout the year, the RCASF chooses to engage in a number of worthwhile charity projects and fundraisers. Most recently, when we heard of a recently widowed woman struggling with multiple leaks in a home where she does not have the means to repair it, our Association stepped in to help. We have invited our members to join us in a project to provide a new roof and, in turn, increase quality of life to this deserving individual. RCASF Announces beneficiary of 2011 Fishing Tournament

The RCASF's 32nd Annual Fishing Tournament is just a few short months away, and we are proud to announce that Make-A-Wish Foundation will be the recipient of a portion of proceeds from the event.
Last year, RCASF's gift of more than $6,000 went to sponsor a 3-year-old boy suffering from heart disease and his dream to go to Disney World. His story touched the hearts of so many of us, and it is our hope to make another child's wish come true in 2011.

BCCO - Website Change

Effective February 7, 2011 -
The Building Code Compliance Office (BCCO) website for Miami-Dade will be fully merged into the Building & Neighborhood Compliance site.
All of the information previously found on the BCCO website will now be accessible at: www.miamidade.gov/building
Please make note as the former BCCO site will eventually be unavailable.

General Meeting 01.19.11 - Open House at NSU

For the start of the year, our January 19th General Meeting will take place at Nova Southeastern University, Huizenga School of Business. This "Open House" format, inclusive of appetizers and cash bar, will be free to RCASF members. We are taking this time to introduce our members to the recent partnership we have developed with NSU to offer high-quality educational programs that are relevant and valuable to our Members and their businesses, for a discounted price. Additionally, we will explore the options of working with Nova in creating custom courses and programs for members that are geared specifically to the roofing industry.
