Marlins' stadium with retractable roof is on schedule
The new $642 million Florida Marlins stadium in Miami is on schedule to open in April 2012. The stadium is on budget and will include a retractable roof that will take about 11 months to complete. It could become the first retractable-roof stadium in the country to get Leadership in Energy and Design certification. Read More in The Miami Herald.

If that is the case, then it is a good thing for American stadiums. I mean, if the Florida Marlins stadium is completed on time, future stadiums will aim for that same achievement. And to be the first stadium in the country with a retractable-rooftop to get a LEED certification? That says everything.
